PhD student Kristina Petrović visited INRAE in her short-term staff mission (November 2024)

 PhD student Kristina Petrović spent three weeks in our partner institution, UMR Carrtel (INRAE - Thonon, France), in November 2024. 

During the last short-term staff mission planned within the BIOLAWEB project, Kristina was supervised by Dr Clarisse Lemonnier and Dr Frédéric Rimet. The extensive training program covered several steps that are important for her professional development and mastering new DNA-based methods for phytoplankton identification and their implementation in biomonitoring, such as DNA extraction from water samples and selected algal cultures, PCR, and sample preparation for sequencing. 

 

We are happy to have the opportunity to send our student on short stay in Europe’s leading institutes for biomonitoring. This training proved to be highly successful for our young colleague!
