Virtual training – Bioinformatic (31 May – 6 June 2024)

 The BIOLAWEB team organized the Virtual Training “Bioinformatics” which was held onsite and online at the University of Belgrade, Institute of Chemistry, Technology and Metallurgy - National Institute of the Republic of Serbia (UB-ICTM) from 31 May to June 6, 2024. 

Training was led by Dr Clarisse Lemonnier, an expert from the partner institution the French National Institute for Food, Agriculture and Environment (INRAE). Frederic Rimet, Benjamin Alric, Benoît Paix, and Antonija Kulaš provided technical support during the training. 

During the training, participants from the BIOLAWEB team and students from the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade learned the principles of the DADA2 pipeline, and how to process DNA reads to get an amplicon sequence variant (ASV) table. Afterward, participants worked in small groups on different data sets and primers (rbcL, 16S, and 23S). 

The BIOLAWEB team feels privileged to have the opportunity to organize such amazing training which enabled us to acquire new knowledge and skills with colleagues and students.
